Steve J Koleszar 1929-2020 | News, Sports, Jobs

Dec 19, 2020 WARREN –The Koleszar family mourns the loss of Steve J. Koleszar, who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at the age of 91. He was a teacher to all his family, and to many outside the family. Steve was born Nov. 8, 1929, to Steve and Helen Koleszar in Perth Amboy, N.J. He grew up in Hungary, where he earned his primary education in Caponja, and later, machine trades education in Budapest. He returned to the United States in 1946, with his brother Louis and worked as a production machinist while he learned the English language. By the mid 1960s, Steve moved on from the machine trades to run his own construction business for nearly 20 years. During the early part of that era, he and his wife, Mary, also owned thoroughbred racehorses. When he was “too old to climb for a living,” he hung up his scaffolds but kept wearing the tool belt for Warren General Hospital, where he was hired as a general maintenance person and retired as the lead carpenter.
