iHeartMedia Miami announced today that DJ Laz will be the weekday afternoon host from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the new Totally 93.9 – All 90s, All The Time–effective Monday January 11, 2021.
DJ Laz will be the ultimate afternoon destination for South Floridians to experience the greatest hits of the 90s. At the end of the workday, Laz will keep commuters moving with 90 minutes of commercial-free 90s music from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
“2020 reminded us to really appreciate all you have, especially health, family and real friends,” said DJ Laz. “I knew I loved my city, but I realized how much I missed being a part of my listeners daily lives. I can play for people all over the world, but it’s just not the same as in my hometown. So excited to launch my new afternoon show on Totally 93.9 – get ready Miami for some fun on your drive home.”

Luther Campbell, popularly known as Uncle Luke, has joined the growing list of hip-hop artists who have contracted the coronavirus.
In an editorial printed on Miami Times, the legendary rapper, who has been a strict adherer to the coronavirus guidelines by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, such as wearing masks every time he would go out, opened up about how he contracted the dreaded virus, with the hope that others will learn from his experience.
He explained that he got infected with the virus after bowing to pressure from his friend to join his birthday party.

On this date in 1960, record exec, rapper, producer and pioneer Luther Campbell aka Uncle Luke was born in Miami, Florida. Luke has morphed into one of the trailblazers of today’s strip club-based Hip Hop that is seen from southern artists such as Future, Kodak Black and even Megan Thee Stallion.
As the one time leader of the legendary 2 Live Crew, Campbell launched Luke Skyywalker Records, becoming the first Hip Hop mogul in the Dirty South boasting a gold album(
The 2 Live Crew Is What We Are). After five group albums and eight solo albums, Campbell ventured into adult films, starred in his own reality show and even made a run for Mayor of Miami in 2011.

Uncle Luke, the resident Miami rap mogul most famous for heading up the pioneering group 2 Live Crew, recently contracted the treacherous coronavirus after caving in to pressure to attend a birthday party.
The normally head-strong Luke told the
Miami Times that he had strictly abided by the CDC’s guidelines to avoid contracting the disease. But he relented to peer pressure to mix it up at one of South Beach’s famous strip clubs.
“Recently, I joined the ranks of the more than one million Floridians who’ve caught the coronavirus. Throughout the pandemic, I had been strictly adhering to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control guidelines, especially wearing a mask whenever I stepped out of my house. Then I gave in to the peer pressure of going out to a party,” he told the Miami newspaper.
