Sazerac House celebrates its signature cocktail with a week of special festivities
A deceptively simple cocktail featuring just five ingredients sugar, Peychaud’s Bitters, Herbsaint, Sazerac rye whiskey and the perfect lemon twist, the Sazerac cocktail has enchanted visitors and residents of New Orleans for nearly two centuries. ARLINGTON, Va., May 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Today, by a unanimous and bipartisan vote of 31-0, the Texas Senate passed House Bill 19 a comprehensive reform bill to reduce frivolous and abusive lawsuits targeting commercial motor vehicles. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation appointed Quentin Messer Jr. as its next CEO.
After a national search, the MEDC’s executive committee said Tuesday that it named Messer to the role. He replaces Mark Burton, who stepped down from the position in March.
Awenate Cobbina, MEDC executive committee chair, and Jeff Noel, vice chair, will continue to lead the organization until Messer starts July 19, with Noel serving as CEO making decisions concurrently with Cobbina.

The Republican-controlled Louisiana House of Representatives voted 69 to 35 on Tuesday to ban the private funding of election administration in the state. The bill now goes to the Louisiana State Senate for consideration.
Several states, including Arizona, Georgia, and Idaho have recently enacted laws to ban the private funding of election administration. The Florida State Legislature passed a bill banning the private funding of election administration last week, and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is expected to sign that bill into law this week.
