A toddler and her mother were died in a fire at a Fort Pierce mobile home park.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff s Office has identified 18-month old Melody Mendoza and 34-year old Mandy Rau as the two victims who perished in the blaze at the Colony Club community, along U.S. 1 early Monday morning.
Firefighters arrived to find one home completely engulfed in flames and at least three others impacted. Three adults were able to escape the burning trailer. One of the two who were taken to the hospital with severe injuries remains there.
The cause of the fire has been determined to be an unspecified electrical malfunction.

Several people were taken to the hospital on Monday morning after flames broke out at a mobile home in St. Lucie County, authorities say.
The St. Lucie County Fire Rescue District said crews responded to the Colony Club Mobile Home Park, located in the 2600 block of U.S. Highway 1 near Fort Pierce, around 2:45 a.m.
Officials said a fire started at a mobile home while residents were inside, and at least four other homes were impacted.
Several people inside the home were taken to local hospitals, according to Chief Deputy Brian Hester with the St. Lucie County Sheriff s Office.
