Channel Seven will not be bringing back it’s Monday night AFL show Talking Footy for the 2021 season.
As a result of the COVID pandemic, the broadcaster dumped both Talking Footy and Game Day before 2020.
At the time, Seven said the shows were “temporarily suspended”.
However, Managing Director Lewis Martin confirmed on
SEN Breakfast that Talking Footy would not be returning to screens in 2021.
“No (it won’t be back this year), but stand by for a couple of announcements because we’re certainly building into a pretty substantial footy magazine offering across the coverage, but not Talking Footy coming back, no,” Martin said.

Legendary AFL broadcaster Bruce McAvaney announced his shock retirement from calling the footy on Sunday and the question now turns to how Channel Seven replaces him.
Managing Director of Seven Melbourne Lewis Martin had a simple answer: “you don’t”.
Martin said the free-to-air broadcaster would push ahead with their existing team, but teased the potential for additions.
