Police arrest pharmacist accused of destroying about 570 Covid vaccine doses
A Wisconsin pharmacist was arrested Thursday afternoon, accused of intentionally spoiling approximately 570 doses of Covid vaccine, local police said in a press release Thursday.
Police were called to investigate the incident at Advocate Aurora Health Hospital in Grafton on Wednesday after a former employee allegedly admitted to deliberately leaving 57 vials of Moderna coronavirus vaccine unrefrigerated, knowing that doing so would render the vaccine ineffective.
Aurora Health said in a press release Wednesday that the situation was a violation of our core values and that the pharmacist had been fired. We continue to believe that vaccination is our way out of the pandemic. We are more than disappointed that this individual s actions will result in a delay of more than 500 people receiving their vaccine, the medical center said Wednesday.

The skills gap is the idea that more workers could fill jobs if they had the skills to do them. Some say this gap creates an economic bottleneck. Some say the whole concept is a non-issue. We talk to a group of experts about this long-standing debate, and how it relates to Indiana’s economic recovery.
Reflections on 2020 and the Future of Work
At the beginning of the year, it was impossible to imagine what would unfold over the course of 2020. As the year comes to a close, we are confronting the ever-worsening tragedy of a global pandemic, and hoping that 2021 brings relief and recovery from the health and economic toll that it has taken on our country and the world. The pandemic has dramatically accelerated many of the trends shaping the future of work, from e-commerce to automation to remote work. Its disparate impacts on people of color and women reflect the ongoing urgency to develop equitable solutions. Though these trends and challenges predate the pandemic, it has made policy conversations about how best to help workers confront these challenges even more critical.
