Roman Catholic priest charged with sexual offences against boy in the Horsham district
A Roman Catholic priest has been charged with sexual offences against a boy in the Horsham district, police said.

Father Anthony White, 62, now of Cross-In-Hand, Heathfield, was summonsed to appear at Crawley Magistrates Court on April 28, to answer charges that he committed two offences of indecent assault and a sexual assault against a boy in the town more than 20 years ago, police said. At the time he was an assistant priest at St Johns Church.
A police spokesman added: “The defendant did not enter a plea and the case was committed for trial with an initial hearing at Lewes Crown Court on May 26.

A DRINK-DRIVER who caused a head-on collision after leading police on a high-speed chase through a rural town has been jailed. Leon Karaloucas, 34, of East Street, Maidstone, Kent was pulled from his white Seat Leon Cupra after he fled police on September 24, 2019. The pursuit reached speeds of 124mph, as officers attempted to stop Karaloucas, who sped past an unmarked police car on the A26 towards Beddingham around 8pm. The pursuit continued through Lewes towards Ringmer, where the driver eventually pulled over onto the pavement. But as officers pulled up behind and were getting out of their vehicle, the Seat accelerated away.
