Debenhams announce closing dates for the final 49 UK stores after Boohoo sale. (PA) Debenhams has revealed its final stores will be closing on May 15 for the final time as it encouraged shoppers to take advantage of remaining heavy discounts. The department store chain collapsed at the end of last year, with the closure of all its stores confirmed after Boohoo agreed to only buy its website and brand in a £55 million rescue deal. And now Debenhams has confirmed closing dates for all its remaining stores. After scraping through previous years, the pandemic saw Debenhams finally fall into administration. In January, online fashion retailer Boohoo has bought the Debenhams brand and website for £55 million in a deal that will see the brand operate as an online-only retailer from next year.
