Building on our Stop Online Abuse campaign, we are joining The FA, Premier League, EFL, FA Women’s Super League, FA Women’s Championship, PFA, LMA, PGMOL, Kick It Out, Women in Football and the FSA for a social media boycott from 15.00 on Friday, April30 to 23.59 on Monday, May 3.
This has been scheduled to take place across a full fixture programme in the men’s and women’s professional game and will see us switching off our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, YouTube and LinkedIn accounts.
While we realise social media is one of the ways we can feel closer to our supporters across the world, across football and beyond we’ve seen an online world poisoned by hateful, racist and discriminatory words. We have seen our own players and legends and many of the Arsenal family receiving abuse and we cannot underestimate the impact it has. A boycott action from football in isolation will not eliminate the issue of online discriminatory abuse, but it will continue

The pair, who have a combined 435 goals and seven Golden Boot awards, were inducted by the EPL governing body on Monday.

Shearer received his induction as the league’s all-time top scorer, netting 260 goals, while Henry’s induction comes on the back of a club-record 175 league goals in 258 matches and four Golden Boot awards at Arsenal.
The ex-France striker also won two top-flight titles with the Gunners which includes the unbeaten 2003-04 season they finished as the Invincibles .
Lauren played with Henry in Arsene Wenger s team for seven years before they both left the Emirates Stadium in 2007 for Portsmouth and Barcelona respectively.
In his congratulatory message, the former Indomitable Lions defender said the honour makes the former Monaco and Montreal CF coach a legend because of his personal achievements.
“We ll always be The Invincibles. But now you re a legend in your own right, Thierry Henry! Was an honour to play with you at Arsenal,” Lauren tweeted.

Former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer and ex-Arsenal forward Thierry Henry have become the first two players inducted into the Premier League s Hall of Fame, the league said on Monday.
Shearer is the Premier League s all-time top scorer, having netted 260 goals across 14 Premier League seasons with Newcastle and Blackburn Rovers.
The former England international, who won the Premier League title in the 1994-95 season with Blackburn, is the only player to have scored 100 goals in the competition for two different clubs.
