Hendersonville has a new chief of operations.
Jesse Eckenroth, currently a director of public works in Rancho Mirage, Calif., was appointed to the position by unanimous vote during the March 9 meeting of the Hendersonville Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
Eckenroth s appointment comes after Interim City Administrator Dave LeMarbre resigned, effective Feb. 24, and received a severance package totaling $13,650 for his remaining work through the end of this month. This marks the third time LeMarbre has retired after working in the city for more than 40 years.
Rancho Mirage, an affluent city by all accounts, boasts exclusive gated communities, 17 golf courses and several resorts, including a five-star property, The Ritz-Carlton.

When Macy s confirmed the closure of its sprawling Water Tower Place store on Chicago s Magnificent Mile in January, it was merely one out of 125 closures planned a year ago. For many Chicagoans, however, it s the latest sign of the retail giant s questionable stewardship of their beloved Marshall Field s starting, from the get-go, with the name change.
Macy s is still running the former Marshall Field s flagship on State Street, along with a number of suburban stores in the area. But its departure from Water Tower Place, a Brookfield-run shopping center on Michigan Avenue, will leave a gaping space for the first time since Marshall Field s first anchored it in 1975. It s the latest blow for the shopping district, which recently also lost a three-story Gap flagship and other stores.

The Long Beach Health Department has already allowed them to book roughly 1,000 appointments for the vaccine, putting them in a rare class of professions like teachers, firefighters and health care workers with access to the shots.
According to the state’s prioritization schedule, dockworkers don’t appear to be eligible; they are specifically named under the “transportation and logistics,” and no eligibility date has been set for this group and many others as supplies of the vaccine remain scarce.
Long Beach, however, got around that by classifying dockworkers at the local seaports as “food workers,” officials said Monday. Food workers, including grocery clerks and farm laborers, became eligible under state criteria about a month ago at the same time as teachers.

Inlander last month that the evidence supported a likely mutual combat or self-defense scenario, adding that the law is very generous to one who claims self-defense. He added that prosecutors must assess possible credibility issues with the case. A decline decision will not foreclose a future prosecution should additional evidence come to light, Haskell says.
