Virginia added 3,591 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday as the Lord Fairfax Health District added 109 new cases.
The Health Department also reported 135 statewide hospitalizations and 51 deaths on Tuesday. Locally, Clarke County reported one new death.
The Lord Fairfax district, which covers Winchester and the counties of Clarke, Frederick, Page, Shenandoah and Warren, has a seven-day average of 124 new daily cases.
Frederick added 41 new cases, Shenandoah 29, Winchester 17, Warren 12, Page six and Clarke four.
No new hospitalizations were recorded locally on Tuesday.
The district s seven-day positivity rate for PCR tests is 12.4% out of 113,955 PCR testing encounters, according to the Virginia Department of Healthâs online dashboard at vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus. This is 0.5% higher than on Monday.

SPRINGDALE, Arkansas The Rotary of Springdale plans to feed 600 Springdale families this year and started the project to help food-insecure kids have food to help sustain them during Christmas break.
The Board started the food donation program two years ago and distributed 50 bags at Lee Elementary and 50 bags at Jones Elementary in Springdale the first year.
Last year 100 bags were given at Lee and 100 at Jones, and this year 300 bags will be given at each school.
Taylor now has reached 167 deaths.
The deceased are two men: one in his 70s with preexisting conditions and the other in his 60s with unknown medical predisposition, officials reported. The average age of all deceased is 77.
The county has reported 50 COVID-19-linked deaths in December, compared to 41 in November and 16 in October.
The 125 new cases are based on 65 polymerase chain reaction tests and 60 antigen tests.
