Washington & Lee University will continue to go by that name. The decision comes after an 11-month review into the school’s name, symbols and other issues related to its history and campus environment.
The school’s Board of Trustees voted 22 to 6 this week to keep the name, but vowed to expand diversity and inclusion initiatives and change the names of some campus buildings.
