SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - DPS reports two children and two adults were killed in a head-on crash Sunday on SH-31.
The investigator’s preliminary report indicates that the driver of a 2003 Nissan Maxima was traveling east on SH-31 crossed into the westbound lane and struck a 2007 Cadillac DTS head-on.
Troopers responded to the two-vehicle fatal crash on SH-31, approximately eight miles west of the city of Kilgore in Smith County, at 4:43 p.m.

Marcus Stroman turns 30 today.
Marcus first came up to the Jays on May 3, 2014. Brandon Morrow went on the DL with a torn tendon sheath in a finger on his right hand, and Marcus got his roster spot. For most of that, May Marcus pitched out of the bullpen. He made his first MLB start May 31, getting the win, pitching 6 innings of 1 run ball. He threw a shutout on September 8 against the Cubs, allowing 3 hits, no walks with 8 strikeouts.

COAL VALLEY – The Niabi Zoo is excited to announce the birth of three Fennec Foxes ( Vulpes zerda). Fennec foxes are native to the Sahara and Sinai deserts of North Africa, and are active hunters of small mammals and reptiles. Fennec foxes are the smallest of all fox species and are known for their unusually large ears that serve to both locate prey underground and to dissipate heat from their bodies in the harsh desert environment. These endearing small members of the fox family are favorites among zoo visitors.
The three kits were born on February 4th , to our 4-year-old male Jelani and 10-year-old female Pika, both of whom were successful parents just a year ago.
