Lee County’s indoor vaccine site moves to Edison Mall By CJ HADDAD - | Apr 14, 2021 Lee County’s vaccination site is getting a new indoor location. Officials from the Florida Department of Health-Lee and Lee County Government recently announced the COVID-19 vaccination site is to be relocated to the former Sears building at the Edison Mall. Lee County commissioners last week announced that the first shots administered at the new location are set to take place today, April 14. “FDOH-Lee selected a fully climate-controlled location due to increasing seasonal temperatures and humidity, as well as soon-to-come summer thunderstorms,” officials said in a release. “The new site is centrally located along public transportation routes, is about five miles from Interstate 75 and offers ample parking. It is easily accessed and could accommodate expanded evening and weekend hours of operation.”

UPDATE: Vaccine appointment reservation line now closed By LEE COUNTY GOVERNMENT - | Jan 20, 2021 All 5,800 available appointments for this week at the Florida Department of Health-Lee and Lee County vaccination site were claimed today within minutes of the reservation call line opening, officials reported at about 10 a.m. The call line opened at 9 a.m. as scheduled. The appointments for Thursday and Friday were filled when that happened. People can stop calling the reservation line now. Representatives of the vendor, Tidal Basin, reported that people who called were either scheduled for appointments while on the line, or prompted to leave their contact information to receive a call back. Once all slots were filled, some callers received a message that appointments were no longer available. Some callers received a busy signal.
