The Lisbon Town Council voted unanimously Tuesday to seek court action to force the clean-up of a property at 49 Frost Hill Avenue.
The property is owned by Chad Pomerleau, according to a memo to the council from Code Enforcement Officer Dennis Douglass.
Douglass states that he notified Pomerleau in September 2015 that having non-domestic animals on the property was in violation of the town’s ordinances.
The most recent violation notices sent in October 2020 and January 2021 were for illegal burning of household trash and violating local and state junkyard and litter laws. Douglass required cleanup of the litter and debris.

Lisbon has issued a 90-day moratorium on new commercial solar power projects in order to weigh new rules regulating future projects.
The measure was requested by three neighbors of a proposed solar energy project on Frost Hill Avenue, which is currently before the planning board. The pause on solar projects only applies to applications that haven’t yet been deemed complete by the board. It does not apply to the Frost Hill Avenue project.
The moratorium was approved Tuesday by the town council, 5-2.
Town Manager Diane Barnes said the moratorium would impact only one potential applicant that is considering submitting an application.

The first guide for freshwater fish and migrants from mainland Portugal was recently published by Edições Afrontamento, who has now informed the National Museum of Natural History and Science (Muhnac) of the University of Lisbon.
It is a 292-page guide resulting from a project coordinated by Maria João Collares-Pereira of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL) that describes all known native, migratory and marine visitor species to date, ”announced the museum in a statement.
The book also describes the “exotic species found in national rivers and reservoirs”, including maps of their distribution in the country, in a total of “62 species”, accompanied by scientific illustrations in the form of original watercolors by Cláudia Baeta and Pedro Salgado.
Local trade in Lisbon will be able to sell products on digital platform
Local businesses in Lisbon will be able to sell products on a digital platform, during the pandemic period, through a partnership with CTT and the Union of Trade and Services Associations (UACS)
In a statement, the executive led by the Fernando Medina indicates that the measure results from the creation of an app of CTT for local commerce, under the “Lisboa Protege” Program, budgeted at 90 million Euros.
“With the use of CTT s new app for local commerce - CTT Comércio Local - developed to provide the digitalization of the sector during this still indefinite period of pandemic, local producers and small traders, who traditionally only have physical commercial activity, now have access to an electronic platform where they can sell their products, as well as a simple solution to get them to final consumers”, said the municipality.
