The UK will send three mobile oxygen factories that produce enough oxygen per minute to support 50 people at a time, as it battles a devastating second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the British government announced on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Foreign Office said the three oxygen generation units – each the size of a shipping container would be sent from surplus stock from Northern Ireland and would produce 500 liters of oxygen per minute each, which is enough for 50 people to use at a time.

New York has now administered 2 million vaccine doses over 130,000 of which have been given in the last 24 hours according to NY Governor Andrew Cuomo.
The state s vaccination sites have administered 90 percent of the first dose vaccinations they has received, and 82 percent of first and second doses, the Governor said.
While the federal government has increased weekly supply by over 20% over the course of the next three weeks, his office said “New York s vast distribution network and large population of eligible individuals still far exceed the supply coming from the federal government.”
France’s health authority has become the first to recommend that only one dose of the coronavirus vaccine be administered to people previously infected with coronavirus.

Rome (CNN)Pope Francis and former Pope Benedict have received the first dose of a coronavirus vaccine, the Vatican said Thursday.
Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said in a statement that he was able to confirm that within the vaccine program of the Vatican City State, to this date the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine has been administered to Pope Francis and Pope Emeritus.
The statement did not say when 84-year-old Pope Francis or his 93-year-old predecessor were inoculated. Vatican City began its vaccine program on Wednesday in a medical center set-up inside its main Auditorium Hall, where the pontiff often holds his weekly audiences. Both men are at higher risk of contracting the virus because of their age.
