Community involvement has been a constant during the law enforcement career of Darry Lloyd, who on May 7 was sworn in as chief investigator for the Eighth Judicial Circuit s State Attorney s Office.
Lloyd, 49, grew up in Gardenia Gardens apartments in the Duval neighborhood in northeast Gainesville.He joined the Gainesville Police Department s Explorers program in 1987 at the age of 14 and has steadily progressed through different levels of law enforcement, including graduating in 2017 from the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
