FREMONT - ProMedica s Memorial Hospital is once again among the top hospitals in the country for patient safety.
Memorial Hospital scored an A based on 27 performance measures from the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services in a new study. The survey, whose submission date was filed in September 2020, included more than 2,700 hospitals nationwide, giving out letter grades from A to F.
Memorial Hospital was one 35 Ohio hospitals out of 115 to receive the A designation. Safety grades are assigned to hospitals twice per year
The surveys, formerly known as Hospital Safety Scores, have become a gold standard for measuring a hospital s ability to keep patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.

Saint Peter’s University Hospital received an “A” grade in the spring 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing Saint Peter’s achievements protecting patients from errors, injuries, accidents and infections.
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade assigns an A, B, C, D, or F grade to all participating general hospitals across the country and is updated every six months. It is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospitals’ prevention of medical errors and other harms to patients in their care, according to the statement.
