Icy roads cause head-on collision in Naples Police say icy roads caused a head on crash on Route 114 in Naples leaving those involved with non life-threatening injuries. Author: Luke Saccone Updated: 11:09 PM EST February 27, 2021 NAPLES, Maine Icy road conditions played a part in a head-on crash on Route 114 in Naples Saturday afternoon, according to police. Several emergency crews, including the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Naples Fire and EMS, Casco EMS, Sebago EMS and Limington EMS responded to the crash in the area of Burnell Road.  Police say 48-year-old Khlid Zghair of Naples crossed the center line in a Toyota truck and hit a Jeep Compass driven by Talisha Goodine-Mitchell, causing extensive damage.

Brownfield man stabs driver, hijacks car, leads police on high-speed chase

2 months ago in Local Photo: clipart.com A stabbing and carjacking prompted a high speed pursuit in Gorham Saturday night, police say. Mason Day, of Brownfield stole a vehicle in Limington after stabbing the driver, and then led officers on a high speed chase into Gorham, striking at least one other vehicle on the way, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. Police deployed spikes mats on the suspects vehicle on three separate occasions. The pursuit ended when a Maine State Trooper utilized a pit maneuver to disable the suspects vehicle permanently. Police say Day fled on foot and was bitten by the sheriff’s office k-9 while attempting to evade capture and was taken into custody.

Suspect arrested after Saturday night car chase in Gorham

Updated: 11:08 PM EST Feb 13, 2021 A stabbing and carjacking that prompted a police chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies came to an end in Gorham Saturday night. Police say the suspect, Mason Day of Brownfield, got a ride from someone in Limington then stabbed the driver and stole the car. The original driver ran off and is OK, we’re told. Police say Day tried to ram the car into police vehicles head-on. Maine State Police, Gorham Police as well as deputies from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and York County Sheriff’s Office were involved. Officers eventually used spike mats to stop the car in Gorham at which point, they say, Day took off on foot. He was taken into custody a short time later but, responders say, three officers were hurt in the process. Their injuries are minor. Police say Day had warrants for illegal possession of a firearm, forgery and violating conditions of release. He’s expected to face charges including robbery, aggravate
