AlohaSafe Alert exposure notification app helps fight COVID-19 | University of Hawaiʻi System News

The Hawaiʻi State Department of Health ( DOH) in partnership with aio Digital and the Hawaiʻi Executive Collaborative has launched AlohaSafe Alert, the free State of Hawaiʻi-approved exposure notification app to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The University of Hawaiʻi encourages students and employees to utilize the AlohaSafe Alert. Once added to a smartphone, AlohaSafe Alert will send a notification within 48 hours when an app user comes into close contact within six feet for at least 15 minutes with an individual, who is also using the app and has tested positive for the virus in the past 14 days.

However, people over the age of 75 will soon have access to the vaccine as well as other essential workers that include correctional officers, emergency service dispatchers and teachers.
