Deaths in Limerick - January 28, 2021 Reporter: );   ); The death has occurred of Katherine (Kitty) Flynn (née Woulfe) of Curragh, Castlemahon, Limerick. Died on 27th January 2021, peacefully at UHL. Predeceased by her husband Jim and sister Nancy. Deeply regretted by her nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, relatives and friends. In accordance with government guidelines, a private family funeral Mass will take place at Castlemahon Church this Saturday 30th of January at 12 o’clock. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery.  The death has occurred of Helena (Nellie) Doherty (née O Dwyer) of Greenfields, Rosbrien, Limerick and late of Milford Nursing Home. On January 27th 2021 peacefully in the wonderful care of Milford Care Centre. Beloved wife of the late Jim. Dearly loved mother of Bill, Kathryn, Martina and Helen. Wichita library branch closing for move to new location

Posted By: George Lawson January 15, 2021 @ 11:40 am Local News, News The Linwood Park branch library in south Wichita will close at the end of the day Friday, and materials will be moved to a new location that will be known as the Dr. Ronald W. Walters Branch. The new facility at 4195 East Harry is named for the late Dr. Ronald W. Walters, a civil rights leader who organized the 1958 sit-in at the Dockum Drug Store in downtown Wichita.  A room at the branch will be devoted to materials from Dr. Walters’ life and work. The Walters Branch is expected to open February 1st.   It has 6,904 square feet and will have a self-check station, 16 public computing spaces, expanded sections for children and teenagers, and a meeting room with after-hours capacity.

Sedgwick County Wants To Turn Your Old Christmas Tree Into Mulch

Sedgwick County is reminding residents that they can still recycle their used Christmas trees. The county’s Environmental Resources Department has set up 22 recycling sites across Wichita and Sedgwick County. The sites will remain open until Jan. 24. The trees will be ground into mulch. Residents can take mulch from any of the sites for free. Recycling the trees also keeps them out of the county landfill. People should remove ornaments. lights and other decorations from the trees before recycling them.
