Daniel Hirst jailed for having indecent images of children

A convicted sex offender found with thousands of indecent images on a hidden phone was told by a judge he caused him upmost concern.
Daniel Hirst, 42, was on early release from a three year sentence for sex offences, when police carried out a check in November, last year.
Officers found he was in breach of his order as he had a phone he had not informed them about containing more than 1731 images in the most serious category, Norwich Crown Court was told.
Lynne Shirley prosecuting, said that Hirst was subject to a indefinite sexual harm prevention order, under which he should have disclosed any devices he had in his possession.

A man who grabbed his partner s neck in a drunken assault has escaped an immediate prison term.
Ipswich Crown Court heard how Stuart Standrin, 37, and his partner had both been drinking on March 1, 2020.
Standrin, of Grapes Farmyard, Bacton, near Stowmarket, grabbed his partner by the neck and pushed her backwards, the court heard.
Standrin was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and initially pleaded not guilty before changing his plea on January 29.
The victim accepted there had been an assault but said Standrin was not a monster and was a supportive part of the family , the court heard.

Andrew Blundell was found with more than 8000 indecent images of children

A man who feared catching Covid in prison after a police raid found 8,000 indecent images of children on his computer has escaped a jail sentence.
Andrew Blundell, 62, was found to have downloaded the images over a three-year period, including 958 images in the most serious category, Norwich Crown Court heard.
Blundell, of Church Street, Wymondham, admitted downloading indecent images of children and possession of 49 prohibited images and three extreme porn images between July 2016 and August 29, 2019.
The court heard that Blundell had a previous conviction for possessing indecent images of children back in 2003, and had been jailed for six months.
