St Germans couple continue to raise awareness of miscarriages with new challenge Published: 09:00, 01 January 2021 Ever since losing a baby in 2018, a West Norfolk woman has been raising awareness of miscarriages and support for the bereaved. Jo Patrick, of St Germans, is an ambassador for Coping and Living with Miscarriage (CALM), and has launched a new fundraising campaign. Alongside her partner Steve, Miss Patrick is encouraging people to take part in the ‘AKA Stepping Up For The MA’ challenge. Picture: SUBMITTED This challenges participants to complete 250,000 steps throughout January – the same as the number of pregnancies that are estimated to end in miscarriage in the UK each year.

Celebrating anniversary of maternity unit at King s Lynn hospital Lynn hospital staff were celebrating the fifth birthday of the maternity unit this week. The midwifery-led Waterlily Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital was formally opened in 2015 by the then High Sheriff of Norfolk, Nicholas Pratt. Since its launch, the Waterlily has welcomed 1,777 babies into the world. The fifth birthday of the Waterlily Unit was celebrated this week. Picture: QEH To celebrate the anniversary on Monday, the maternity team gave out personalised gifts to babies and their families born on the birthday, including candles, notes and commemorative baby grows and bibs.

The housing provider has been hosting an ‘Advent Calendar’ for employees with an activity, prize giveaway or some other type of festive fun behind each daily door.
