Syracuse, N.Y A brief pause in its ACC schedule on Thursday will give the Syracuse lacrosse team a much-needed chance to regroup.
No. 9 Syracuse (4-3) hosts Albany (5-2) at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Carrier Dome. Syracuse is coming off back-to-back losses to Notre Dame and Duke while the Great Danes ride in off a big win over UMass-Lowell.
After the test against the Great Danes, Syracuse heads off on a conference stretch at home against North Carolina and on the road against Virginia and Notre Dame.

Syracuse, N.Y. The Syracuse lacrosse team announced on Wednesday that its scheduled regular season-finale against Utah has been canceled.
The game was scheduled for May 8 in the Carrier Dome. No reason was given for the cancelation and SU said there are no plans to reschedule a home game on that date.
The game would have been the first-ever meeting between the programs.

Syracuse, N.Y. Regardless of what unfolds in Thursday night’s Albany-Syracuse men’s lacrosse game, one thing will look the same as it always has.
The setting will remain a constant. It will be the 19th meeting between the teams, and all of those games will have been played in the Carrier Dome.
That scenery was supposed to have already changed, but the coronavirus got in the way. Great Danes fans shouldn’t sweat it though. SU still plans on bringing its road show to Casey Stadium.

Syracuse, N.Y. Under current state guidelines, a little more than 2,000 fans will be able to attend the Syracuse Mets’ home opener next month at NBT Bank Stadium.
Beyond that, the Mets are offering spectators a chance to maintain something of a presence at the park while helping out with Covid relief at the same time.

Syracuse, N.Y. The disintegration of the Syracuse lacrosse team was as quick as it was shocking on Saturday afternoon.
After an impressive SU start that built a four-goal lead early in the second quarter, Notre Dame took over as few teams ever have on the Carrier Dome turf. The No. 9 Fighting Irish scored nine goals in the final 12:29 of the quarter to reverse momentum and breeze to an 18-11 win over No. 4 Syracuse.
Pat Kavanagh was a maestro for the Fighting Irish, running circles around the Orange defense with four goals and five assists, and Griffin Westlin and Will Yorke each put up four apiece.
