No. 9 Syracuse (4-3) hosts Albany (5-2) at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Carrier Dome. Syracuse is coming off back-to-back losses to Notre Dame and Duke while the Great Danes ride in off a big win over UMass-Lowell. After the test against the Great Danes, Syracuse heads off on a conference stretch at home against North Carolina and on the road against Virginia and Notre Dame.

The game was scheduled for May 8 in the Carrier Dome. No reason was given for the cancelation and SU said there are no plans to reschedule a home game on that date. The game would have been the first-ever meeting between the programs.

After an impressive SU start that built a four-goal lead early in the second quarter, Notre Dame took over as few teams ever have on the Carrier Dome turf. The No. 9 Fighting Irish scored nine goals in the final 12:29 of the quarter to reverse momentum and breeze to an 18-11 win over No. 4 Syracuse. Pat Kavanagh was a maestro for the Fighting Irish, running circles around the Orange defense with four goals and five assists, and Griffin Westlin and Will Yorke each put up four apiece.
