Minister Harris congratulates Professor Linda Doyle on election as Provost of Trinity   Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Simon Harris TD has today (Saturday) congratulated Professor Linda Doyle on her election as Provost of Trinity College. Professor Doyle is an expert in the fields of wireless communications, cognitive radio, reconfigurable networks, spectrum management and creative arts practices, and as well as securing significant research funding, has held a number of senior roles, including Dean of Research in Trinity College. Speaking today, Minister Harris said: I want to congratulate Professor Doyle on her election as Provost of Trinity College Dublin. She will become the first female president in the college’s 429-year history. Another glass ceiling has been shattered.

Trinity College elects first woman Provost in 429 years Disappointment for Kilkenny native   ); Trinity College in Dublin has elected it s first woman Provost in it s 429 year history. But it was disappointment for Callan woman Professor Linda Hogan, who was one of the final three candidates in this morning s election. She made it through the first round of voting, which saw the elimination of Professor Jane Ohlmeyer with the lowest number of votes. In the final round of voting Professor Hogan received 270 votes to Professor Doyle s 517 votes.
