CK Art House Looking For Submissions | 99 1 FM CKXS

The Chatham-Kent Art House is a multi-disciplinary event combining visual art and creative writing. The idea initially came from exhibit by Wallaceburg-based surrealist painter Troy Brooks in Los Angeles last summer. Dan White with the Wallaceburg and District Council for the Arts says he felt every painting captured one second of a story. The first phase, which is now underway, is a call for visual art submissions. There are no specific guidelines for the works of art, they can be photographs, paintings, or sketches. Submissions will be reviewed by a five-person jury, including White, Brooks, Danielle Coleman, Lynda Moffat, and Jim Capes.

Linda Moffatt: The Queen has new representative in Dunbartonshire | Dumbarton and Vale of Leven Reporter

Written by Erin Maguire DUNBARTONSHIRE’S new Vice Lord-Lieutenant says she is “honoured and delighted” to have been chosen for the role. Linda Moffat, whose appointment was recently approved by the Queen, will represent Her Majesty at ceremonies and special occasions in the area, such as 100th birthdays, and will identify people and organisations in the area deserving of royal recognition for their service. Most of the Lieutenancy’s work is on hold because of the pandemic, but Linda says she’s looking forward to getting stuck into the role once the easing of limits allows her to do so.
