Calçada joins KOPN as general manager Columbia Daily Tribune An iconic broadcaster and producer in his homeland of Catalonia and throughout Spain, Miquel Calçada has joined KOPN Community Radio as general manager, the station announced in a news release Tuesday. At the age of 18, Calçada was selected to announce the return of Catalan language radio when it was reintroduced after the end of the Franco regime and hosted the first live television talk show in Spain, according to the release. He has more than 30 years of experience in broadcasting and producing for radio and television and hosted several popular programs.

N C Buddy Day Jr

TELFORD -  Buddy Day Jr., age 75, of Telford went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2020. He was a native of Washington County, Tn and the son of the late Norvan C. Day Sr. and Artie Mae McElyea Day. Buddy was the owner and operator of Buddy Day Construction for 55 years. He was an active member of Jackson Park Covenant Brethren Church where he served as a deacon and church board member. Buddy loved serving his church. He was instrumental in building the Jackson Park Church Pavilion, The Shed , a place where his church family and others could gather together to fellowship and a place for children to play and have fun.

Woman arraigned on loitering charges Chy Ann McCormick, 46, of Williamsport, allegedly knocked on the door of a Memorial Avenue property while intoxicated, causing a loud disturbance at around 10 p.m. Dec. 12, according to city police. Officer Christopher Salisbury wrote in an affidavit that allegedly, McCormick would not leave the resident’s porch and that she smelled of alcohol, slurred her speech and could not walk. McCormick was arraigned by Judge Aaron Biichle later that night on charges related defiant trespassing, disorderly conduct, loitering and prowling at night and public drunkenness. She is being held in the Lycoming County Prison with bail set to $12,000 and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Dec. 17.

Henry Orr Brodnax

Sep 09, 1927 Dec 09, 2020 Henry Orr “Boley” Brodnax, of Wall, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 9, 2020 at the age of 93.  He was born September 9, 1927 in Rockdale, Texas, the third of eight children and the only boy, to Barry Orr and Linda Stork Brodnax. In 1928, his family moved to West Texas and settled in the Fairview community where they ran a dairy and farmed.   He joined the U.S. Army after World War II helping with the clean up of Germany and working with the flight crews. Boley was a storyteller and he had many interesting stories about his time in Germany and the beautiful countryside.
