With dead evil abuser Paul (Reece Dinsdale) having left the Dingles in huge debt, having taken out a credit card in Lydia’s (Karen Blick) name, and with his funeral bills to cover, the family needs cash.

Vinny soon finds himself with an opportunity to raise some cash when he stumbles across Paul’s notebook containing details of gambling tips, which just so happens to include a list of sure-fire wins he was planning to bet on.
Despite all the problems Paul’s gambling has caused, Vinny signs up to a gambling site and places a bet all the same. He seems to enjoy a similar buzz from the experience, and becomes swept up in the excitement when he wins – only to be caught in the act soon after by a very shocked Mandy.

Emmerdale s Paul Ashdale is haunting Lydia Dingle from beyond the grave - though certain viewers are convinced they ve spotted a plot hole in the storyline.
When asked if Kim will become a nicer person, Claire added: Possibly for one or two minutes maybe! But there is a nicer side because she s feeling so vulnerable and actually this is the start of quite a good friendship with Lydia. Lydia has got her own worries and Kim helps with that. They have a respect for each other – they re similar women even though they re poles apart. They re very loyal, family means everything to them and they ll fight tooth and nail for their families. I think there s a trust between Kim and Lydia and until either of them breaks it, it s nice to have that genuine friendship like she had with Rhona.
