Get your lottery tickets. The jackpot for tonight’s Mega Million drawing has grown to $600 million. No one has matched all of the numbers needed to win the top prize since September. The jackpot for tomorrow night’s Powerball drawing is $550 million.
The Pulaski County School Board will meet tonight to select a new chair and vice-chair. Afterward, it will hold a public hearing about the school system’s budget for the next fiscal year, which starts July 1.
Conservative Parents of Lynchburg opposes new school board policy
The group Conservative Parents of Lynchburg is opposing a new Lynchburg School Board policy that suspends in-person public comments at school board meetings during January. The school board vote was 5-4. Residents can still submit comments via email or voice mail. LYNCHBURG, Va. – School leaders in Lynchburg voted Tuesday night to delay the return to a hybrid schedule by a few days in January due to a possible spike in COVID-19 cases after the holidays and travel.
Initially, the plan was for students to return to a hybrid schedule on January 4, which is the first day back from winter break. The Lynchburg School Board voted 7-2 Tuesday night in favor of shifting to Phase Two remote learning for all students from January 4 through 8.
