He is serving time for each count involving a victim. Two victims, Michael Hannan and Jennifer Murphy were present in the court room and shared their experience. Murphy was assaulted by Fanelli and Hannan was shot and severely injured. He thanked those who helped to save his life and asked the judge to convict Fanelli to the fullest possible extent, as he says he fears Fanelli could be a potential danger to others if he is ever released.
