2.5 Minute Ride is a portrait of Lisa s father captured through two very different father-daughter trips: the family s annual pilgrimage to Ohio s Cedar Point amusement park, roller coaster capital of the world, and a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Auschwitz, where his parents were killed. Lisa connects these two disparate, formative parts of her father s life story with anecdotes, revelations, and irreverent asides in this travelogue through thrill and loss. The autobiographical play is the first in a trio of solo performances that will cap Studio s 2020-2021 all-digital season.

The Dramatists Guild of America has announced that Amanda Green has been elected to be their incoming Council President succeeding outgoing President Doug Wright. She will be the first woman president in the Guild s 100-year history. Amanda will serve with Branden Jacobs-Jenkins as Vice President, Kristoffer Diaz as Secretary, and Christine Toy Johnson as Treasurer. Previous Board Officers have included Lisa Kron, Julia Jordan, Marsha Norman, Lynn Nottage, Stephen Schwartz, Stephen Sondheim, John Weidman, and Doug Wright.

Lyricist Benjamin Scheuer and co-librettists Melissa Li and Kit Yan have been selected as the winners of the 31st annual Kleban Prize for Musical Theatre. While the award celebrates the artists career work overall, all three winners recently created works that center the transgender community and experience.
The 2021 prizes will be presented March 16 during a free virtual ceremony at 10 AM on
NewDramatists.org. The event will feature musical performances from this year s recipients; Tony winners and Kleban board members Richard Maltby, Jr. and Maury Yeston will host.

Columbia Records co-head of urban music,
Shawn Holiday, is launching a new label and publishing venture with
Irving and
Billboard can confirm. He will maintain an A&R capacity role with Columbia.
The news was first reported by HITS Daily Double, which noted Holiday will continue to work with Polo G, Chloe x Halle and other artists signed to the label. Holiday also held a dual role at Sony/ATV, where he was named head of urban music in January 2019.
