L.A. May Day Coalition
LOS ANGELES On Saturday, May 1, Los Angeles will honor the contributions of immigrants, workers, and those who fight to create a more just society for all. This year marks a new era of possibility in a time of desperately needed change. The work continues under the new administration as the nation enters into what looks to be the phasing down of the COVID-19 pandemic. If it was not clear before, it is clear now that the problems that existed before the pandemic have been exacerbated because of it. The country needs immigration reform, needs to protect workers, and take a giant leap forward towards racial justice.

CDPH Joins Labor and Immigrants Rights Advocates to Encourage Immigrant Workers and Families to Continue Getting COVID-19 Vaccinations
LOS ANGELES The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) will join a diverse group of labor and immigrants rights advocates for a press conference encouraging immigrant workers and their families to continue getting COVID-19 vaccinations, as part of the state’s ongoing work to increase immunity in communities hardest hit by the pandemic and reopen by June 15.
The event will take place at the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, in partnership with St. John’s Well Child and Family Center, where 360 first-dose vaccinations are being allocated to immigrant workers. Reaching high vaccination rates among immigrant communities of all ethnicities is needed to help keep essential workers safe on the job
