Chattanooga’s Lady Mocs did some serious soul-searching after Thursday’s 71-60 Southern Conference basketball defeat at home against the Samford Lady Bulldogs and it paid off with a coast-to-coast win on Saturday at McKenzie Arena.
Spending more time watching film of Thursday’s game and even spending more time than normal shooting outside of practice, the Lady Mocs played one of their best games of the year to win 70-57 against the league leaders in a game that really wasn’t as close as the final score might indicate.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga ran its win streak to five games Friday night with a 68-56 win over Furman in Southern Conference women’s basketball action. UTC improved to 7-4 overall and 2-0 against the SoCon while Furman drops to 4-7 on the year and 0-2 in league play.
Bria Dial dropped in four of Chattanooga’s seven 3-pointers to lead the Mocs with 19 points and grabbed four steals. Eboni Williams and Abbey Cornelius chipped in 11 points apiece. Cornelius had four assists and Williams matched her career-high for steals with five to go along with three assists.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team fell 62-45 Friday afternoon to the Eastern Kentucky Colonels in non-conference action. The Mocs drop to 2-4 overall and EKU improves to 3-2 with its third straight win.
Eboni Williams led Chattanooga from the floor for the third time this season with 14 points and was one rebounds shy of a double-double with nine.
