Guilty Gear Xrd games, won’t be returning in the upcoming
Guilty Gear Strive after stepping down to “support more work for Black actresses behind the mic.”
“I happily stepped away so they could cast more appropriately,” Fitzgerald wrote on Twitter, responding to questions about actor Laura Stahl’s recent announcement that she’ll be voicing Ramlethal instead. “The character is black. I am not black.”
Ramlethal Valentine was introduced to the Arc System Works fighting game franchise in 2014’s
Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- as a boss character before becoming playable in a post-release update. Although an artificial human being in the game’s story, Ramlethal has long been considered a Black woman due to her skin tone, so much so that the existence of alternate colour palettes with lighter skin have caused some minor controversy in the fighting game community.

Genshin Impact: Did Barbara’s voice change? Fans want her old voice back
Genshin Impact update 1.3 is now live and it has given us the wonderful Xiao banner as well as the current Five Flushes of Fortune photography event. However, away from all of the good additions, fans are more than a tad miffed about the voice change for Barbara. Fans have reacted to Barbara’s voice change with fury by saying that the character is now ruined.
There’s lots to be excited about when it comes to version 1.3. While the Five Flushes of Fortune event is available right now and will result in a Perfect Shot quest with a Special Kamera, there’s also the upcoming Lantern Rite which will boast exclusive games, foods, activities, and rewards. Not only that, but there will also be a Stand By Me event with a free Liyue character.

Genshin Impact’s brand new 1.3 patch, released earlier this week, added new characters, new activities, and a whole new event, but it also took something away: Barbara’s voice. Barbara is a playable character who’s basically a pop star, and before 1.3, her peppy demeanour reflected that. Now her delivery is more muted. Many fans are extremely opposed to this change, but instead of kicking down developer Mihoyo’s doors about it, they’re going after the target that makes the least sense: Barbara’s voice actor.
