Seven young women from leading UK and Ireland meat organisations have been shortlisted for this year’s ‘One to Watch’ award, the annual prize for emerging female talent in the meat industry.
They were chosen from more than 50 applicants through a judging process assessing their professional impact, creativity, innovation, industry knowledge and vision for the meat industry.
In keeping with Meat Business Women’s mission to inspire the next generation of female talent, candidates were also evaluated on their interpersonal skills, commitment to mentoring and ability to inspire others.

Held every three years, Beef Australia 2021 will welcome tens of thousands of visitors from across Australia on May 2-8 and showcase Australia s diverse beef industry. Beef Australia chief executive Ian Mill says a host of new attractions will feature on this year s program, to appeal to a wider audience than ever before. The event will be as large as ever, with an abundance of new offerings and importantly, a new virtual component should people not be able to attend in person, he says. It has grown from a beef industry event, to a major event for everyone.
Limerick hotel serves up online classes for students

A POPULAR Limerick Hotel is running project for Transition Year students to get them involved with the hospitality industry.
Due to Covid-19, Transition Year students in Limerick have been unable to go on work placement as they normally would. The Dunraven Arms Hotel in Adare usually take in several TY’s on their placement and they felt their absence this year.
“Normally every year, we would have several TY students on placement which gives them a nice insight into the hospitality industry and a little bit of practical training,” said proprietor Louis Murphy.
