Our recap of the stories we featured during the past seven days a charity tribute to John Lennon and something brand new from Modest Mouse.
Maxi Jazz of Faithless and KT Tunstall are some of the artists who feature on a John Lennon tribute album which has been given a digital release of June 11th, raising money for War Child.
Sepp Osley and his band Blurred Vision led the concert when it was held last year, taking guests through some of Lennon’s best loved Beatles and solo work, such as Strawberry Fields Forever, Don’t Let Me Down and Instant Karma.

Animal is out July 30 (via Partisan/Chrysalis). Marling worked on the album while making last year’s
Song for Our Daughter. “LUMP is the repository for so many things that I’ve had in my mind and just don’t fit anywhere in that way,” she said in a press release. “They don’t have to totally make narrative sense, but weirdly they end up making narrative sense in some way.”
