Nanoform and Celanese Explore Ways to Enhance Drug Delivery
Helsinki, Finland – Nanoform Finland Plc, an innovative nanoparticle medicine enabling company, and Celanese Corporation (NYSE: CE), a global specialty materials company, today announced plans to explore the synergies between their respective technologies in the field of nanoparticle-enabled drug delivery.
The goal is to assess the utility of combining Nanoform’s nanoparticle platform technologies with Celanese’s VitalDose
® EVA copolymer delivery technology for drug-eluting implants. The aims are to enable the development of next-generation drug delivery devices that support increased drug load and possess enhanced sustained release properties. Nanoform and Celanese intend to work on formulation development, leveraging each organization’s unique formulation expertise.

Before NBC Universal’s upfront presentation on Monday to advertisers, the company announced dozens of new shows for Bravo, E!, USA Network, Oxygen and SYFY. In the press release, 33 new unscripted shows were announced along with 30 shows returning to the suite of channels.
Among the highlights is a new “Below Deck” spinoff, called “Below Deck Adventure,” which will premiere on Bravo early next year, and is set in the “glacial fjords of Norway.” Also on Bravo will be the tentatively titled “Kandi OLG Project,” premiering later this year, which will follow Kandi Burruss’ expanding Atlanta restaurant project. The much-Instagrammed “Summer House Winter Charm,” a mashup of the Bravo shows “Southern Charm” and “Summer House,” will debut on Bravo in the fall.
NIDA has selected postdoctoral researchers from Germany and Thailand to receive INVEST Drug Abuse Research Fellowships:
Laura Brandt, Ph.D. (Germany), will work with Edward Nunes, M.D., as an INVEST/Clinical Trials Network (CTN) fellow at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Dr. Brandt just completed an Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship supported by the Austrian Science Fund, where she was the principal investigator on a project that evaluated fidelity and implementation of programs to prevent opioid overdose and distribute Naloxone to opioid users. She has also conducted research on violent experiences among females diagnosed with gambling disorder. During her fellowship, Dr. Brandt plans to identify and validate surrogate endpoints for long-term opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment outcomes using an aggregate data set of four large, multisite, pragmatic CTN trials that have tested all three FDA-approved medications to treat OUD as well

When fast-fashion chain Mango agreed to sublease Ralph Lauren’s 28,000-square-foot Fifth Avenue store last November, the deal seemed like a win-win for both retailers.
Mango would be able to explore the idea of having a store on one of the city’s most iconic shopping corridors, at a fraction of the cost. Ralph Lauren, meanwhile, was struggling due to the pandemic, and would have a chunk of its rent paid off.
But the deal hasn’t worked out quite as either hoped and shows some of the challenges inherent in retail subleasing, which experts believe could become more popular as tenants struggle to make rent and landlords look for options.
