Fallen Officer s Remains Arrive in San Angelo
SAN ANGELO, TX San Angelo citizens lined the streets to honor Sgt. Stephen Jones late Wednesday morning.
The remains of Sgt. Jones were transported from Lubbock where his autopsy was performed. Along the way, first responders lined the roadway to salute the fallen deputy as the procession passed their communities.
Sgt. Jones was taken to Johnson s Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have not been announced at this time.
The remains of the other law enforcement officer gunned down in the same incident in Eden Monday night, Deputy Samuel Leonard, will be laid to rest on Monday, May 17 at the First Baptist Church in Lamesa.
New Deer Isle-Stonington High School principal starting in July
DEER ISLE The new Deer Isle-Stonington High School principal will move to the island in June after having handled discipline for a Nashville, Tenn., middle school of 900-plus students whose families spoke about 40 different languages.
Laura Davis, a Nashville native, starts July 1 and replaces current Principal Dennis Duquette, who is leaving to explore other options.
The city of Nashville between November 2020 and January 2021 was cited as the COVID-19 hotspot of the world, Davis said. The city had stints where 10,000 to 15,000 people a day were testing positive for the coronavirus. So, she’s ready for Maine.

Leeds agency, Brilliant, has been picked by Danish Crown and Hormel Foods to launch and manage the UK Instagram and Facebook pages for US peanut butter brand, Skippy.
The appointment comes as the brand plans further growth in the UK market, utilising multiple media channels to support.
The work will see the agency utilise its team of social media experts, graphic designers and copywriters to create content designed to drive brand awareness to consumers.
Speaking on the win, Laurra Davis, Founder and Creative Director at Brilliant, said:
