During the Feb. 23 special council meeting, West Grey council went into closed session with the CAO/deputy clerk, director of administration/clerk, director of finance/treasurer for the purpose of discussing personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees.

When council returned from the closed session, it was announced and passed in a surprise motion that Coun. Rebecca Hergert be allowed a four-month leave of absence from council duties effective immediately.

Reading is a social entrepreneur instrumental to Ursuline College’s Institute for Women, Wellness and Work, which aims to support women, help advance their careers, provide resources and maximize women’s leadership in addressing challenges in our communities.
The institute launched just before the pandemic, and quickly found a focus.
