(WMBF) - A new record number of homes were sold in South Carolina last year. A report from the South Carolina Realtors Association shows 101,500 homes were sold in the Palmetto State throughout 2020. In 2020, homebuyers changed addresses at a record-setting pace across the state, which was surprising for one local real estate agent who prepared for the worst when the pandemic struck. “I got married in 2009, and we were not yet at the bottom of the real estate market, but the market was in a free fall at that point,” said Adam Cates, president of Tradd Commercial. “There were flavors of that at the end of the first quarter last year.”
