Laurel County Sheriff John Root says his department is asking for the public’s help finding a man they believe stole a truck and some heavy equipment from a business. Investigators say on the night of April 26th, a Ford F350 pickup truck, a Gatorade trailer and a Bobcat excavator were taken from the site about four miles south of London on U.S. 25. Deputies were able to recover the excavator on Tuesday, but at last report the truck and trailer were still missing. They are looking for Patrick Sizemore as a suspect in the case. A Laurel County woman is facing charges, accused of leaving a child alone in a home while she was intoxicated. Officials with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said just before 9 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a disturbance complaint at a home where they found that 28 year old Kayla Slusher was apparently locked out of the house. When they investigated further, they found out she was under the influence and caring for a child who was inside the home. Slusher is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and public intoxication. She was released from the Laurel County Correctional Center Monday on bond and is scheduled to appear in court in July.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says a woman is facing charges, accused of leaving a child alone in a home while she was intoxicated. Deputy Greg Poynter, along with Deputy Brent France, Deputy Marcus Stigall and CSO Brian France responded to a disturbance complaint at a home on Keavy Road. When they arrived at the scene, they found 28-year-old Kayla Slusher was apparently locked out of the house. When they investigated further, they found out she was under the influence and caring for a child who was inside the home. Slusher is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and public intoxication. She was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center and later released.
Family searching for help to find missing Laurel County man

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) â A Laurel County family is desperately searching for answers after 35-year-old Matthew McQueen went missing 12 days ago.
Joy Henry has had a rough week and a host of sleepless nights. It s just a burden that I can t explain,â said Henry.
She canât deal with the not-knowing. Henry still hasnât heard from her nephew McQueen, who is more like a son to her.
âHe s had no contact whatsoever with the family, with the baby, with his motherâ¦There s been no bank activity through his banking account,â said Henry.
At least one person has died following a crash in Laurel County on Wednesday.
Crews with the Laurel county rescue squad say they responded to say the crash around 9am on 231 Pine Grove Road.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office say they believe 37 year old William Petrey was driving a pickup truck while 37 year old Rebecca Warren was in the back screaming for Petrey to stop the truck.
Petrey did not stop the truck but did collide with 2 fence posts and a tree, which caused Warren to be thrown from the truck and collide with a barn; causing fatal injuries.
