Replay Video – Montreal public health authorities are alarmed by a rise in cases of the B.1.1.7 variant in densely populated neighbourhoods, where the positivity rate in the screening of COVID-19 samples has soared to as high as 25 per cent. Of particular concern is an area known as Côte-St-Luc north, where authorities are focusing most of their efforts in seeking to contain the spread of the variant that originated in the U.K, and that is considered to be at least 50 per cent more contagious.
