Brisbane lights up pink to pay tribute to Hannah Clarke one year on from tragedy

Brisbane City was bathed in pink on Friday night to honour Queensland mother Hannah Clarke and her three children who were killed in a domestic violence incident one year ago. Ms Clarke and her children, six-year-old Aaliyah, four-year-old Laianah and three-year-old Trey were set alight in their car on February 19 2020 by Rowan Baxter in a murder-suicide in Camp Hill. Friends and locals gathered to pay their respects at Hannah's Place, a section of park in Camp Hill and her parents Sue and Lloyd Clarke lit a candle at 5:30pm to mark the time their daughter passed. Since the tragedy Hannah's parents have established Small Steps for Hannah, a charity focused on criminalising coercive control. The Queensland government on Wednesday announced it will establish a taskforce to consider legislation on coercive control to take to parliament early next year.
