Mbonisi Mkhombe 23 received a $2,000 James G. Stemler Study Abroad Scholarship to pursue a study abroad program in the United Kingdom during the 2021-22 academic year.
James G. Stemler Study Abroad Scholarships are awarded to Alpha Lambda Delta honor society members who seek to expand their college experience through a study abroad program.
“A big part of how I view myself is as a global learner and for me that entails having a diverse educational experience which I feel is best achieved through a study away program, said Mkhombe. I look forward to engaging in a different kind of learning and by taking classes that are social justice focused I hope to enhance my overall educational experience as I take part in my study abroad program.

Christopher Goldberg Welcomed into Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society Written by Western New England University
Christopher Goldberg, of Mahopac, NY,was among over 80 students from the Western New England University College of Arts & Sciences inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta in a virtual ceremony held on March 5. Goldberg is working toward a BS in Information Technology.
Alpha Lambda Delta recognizes the best and brightest members of the nation s first-year college students. The mission of the Society is to encourage superior academic achievement, to promote intelligent living and a high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals in society. Students in Alpha Lambda Delta must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 after their first semester of full-time enrollment.
