247 2 minutes read On Dec. 7, the East Baton Rouge Prison Reform Coalition held a vigil and march after the 44th death in Parish Prison since 2012 a number that far surpasses deaths in jail when compared with national data. “Words have power they have energy. And what our leaders believe is that there is not any power in these names,” said Linda Franks of the East Baton Rouge Prison Reform Coalition whose son’s name was read among the 44 names.  Frank’s son, Lamar Johnson, was arrested for having tinted windows en route to picking up his grandmother from dialysis in 2016. Parish prison officials claim he committed suicide while in custody.

The homeless living in the area, like Lamar Johnson, say the restroom is barely usable because it isn t being cleaned enough. The city of Sacramento provided this statement: Based on recent issues of cleanliness, the city has increased cleanings of the facility from once per day to two times per day and will continue to monitor the condition of the Portland Loo.

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - A 45-year-old man is accused of repeatedly vandalizing an 89-year-old Minneapolis woman’s home because he was upset with one of the other people living there.  Lamar Johnson was charged Monday with stalking, first-degree property damage and six counts of illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon in connection with the repeated vandalism at Frances Mosley’s home on the 5100 block of Cedar Avenue South near Lake Nokomis. 

Bryan Cranston s Your Honor Pats Itself on Back for Tackling White Privilege

Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston has returned to television to produce and star in Showtime’s Your Honor. From the start, the miniseries was quite melodramatic, but by December 13’s episode “Part Two,” it’s clear the show sees itself as having a role in addressing the treatment of minorities and the poor.  Cranston plays Judge Michael Desiato, whose son Adam (Hunter Doohan) killed a fellow 17-year-old riding a motorcycle in a hit and run. Michael is all ready to do the right thing and have his son turn himself in, until he learns that Adam killed the son of local crime boss Jimmy Baxter (Michael Stuhlbarg). Michael will now go through any and all lengths to save his son.
