SARS brutality: Complainant seeks N290M compensation

A complainant, Mr. Richard Augustine, at the Independent Investigative Panel on allegations of human rights violations by the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other units of the Nigerian Police Force on Wednesday sought a compensation big N290million for injuries he sustained from a shot in the foot and his torture, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment in the hands of SARS operatives in Nasarawa and Lagos states.
Augustine a resident of Kafanchan, Kaduna State, told the panel that on the 13th February 2015, he was on his way to Kafanchan from Abuja where he had gone for some business transactions and that his inability to board a vehicle back to Kafanchan made him to pass the night in a friend’s house in Keffi, Nasarawa state.
