Finalists for the annual Chamber of Commerce business excellence awards were announced Tuesday.
Cowan Insurance Group Ltd., Minotaur Stormwater Services and West Brant Window World are nominated for the Company of the Year Award, which is sponsored by Waterous, Holden, Amey, Hitchon.

Booster Juice, Ironstone Entrance Technologies Inc. and Lansdowne Children’s Centre are nominated for the Bell Community Builder Award.
And the Beauty Barn Spa, CPR- Cell Phone Repair and Whole Body Health are nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year, which is sponsored by Enterprise Brant.
Lansdowne Children’s Centre now has new dedicated staff and sites in Haldimand Norfolk.
The centre supports children with physical, communication, or developmental challenges from birth through to the end of school.
Lansdowne also provides virtual care to ensure safety and service continuity during COVID-19 restrictions.
Lansdowne Children’s Centre began providing pediatric rehabilitation therapy at Norfolk General Hospital in 1997, moving to Simcoe’s 12 Colborne St. EarlyON Child and Family Centre in 2007, regularly seeing families in other EarlyON sites and family homes across both counties.
With service growth over the past year Lansdowne expanded its therapy teams to now also serve families at 11 Colborne St. Simcoe, at 282 Argyle St S, Unit 3 Caledonia and at Dunnville’s EarlyON site.

Organizers have announced the cancellation of the 2021 Community Charity Airshow in Brantford.
“The main issue remains COVID-19 and where we might be by early September,” said Sherry Kerr, co-chair of the fundraising event held at the Brantford municipal airport. “Trying to plan at a target of which there is no target is certainly an issue.”

After waiting until early summer of 2020 to cancel last year’s show, organizers said they felt it necessary to put off plans for this year’s event. Planning for the annual show starts in January.
