COLUMBUS Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost issued Ohio’s Law on Concealed Handguns annual report on Monday showing that 169,232 concealed carry licenses were issued in Ohio in 2020.

According to the statistics reported to the Attorney General’s Office, county sheriffs issued 98,892 new licenses and 72,340 renewals. Permit holders who wish to renew their licenses must do so every five years.
Under Ohio law, county sheriffs are responsible for issuing concealed-carry licenses and renewing them, as well as suspending and revoking licenses. The Ohio Attorney General’s Office compiles this annual report, as required by law, about the number of licenses issued each year.

COLUMBUS Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced on Tuesday that Ohio Department of Health Director Stephanie McCloud has signed the following public health orders:
Wedding receptions, funeral repasts, proms, and other events, whether or not food is served, at banquet facilities shall comply with previously signed health orders, including those regarding restaurants and facial coverings.
Events at banquet centers no longer have a 300-person limitation, so long as they comply with other health orders.
The maximum number of spectators in any indoor sports venue shall be 25 percent of fixed, seated capacity.
The maximum number of spectators permitted in any outdoor sports venue shall be 30 percent of fixed, seated capacity.

Van Wert County has been chosen to receive $10,910 to supplement food and shelter programs under the Phase 38 SSA process. The selection was made by a national board chaired by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and consisting of representatives from the Salvation Army, American Red Cross, United Jewish Communities, Catholic Charities, National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA, and United Way Worldwide, which provides the administrative staff and functions as fiscal agent.
A local board is responsible for distributing funds appropriated by Congress to help expand the capacity of food and shelter programs in high need areas around the country. The board is made up of Andy McMahon of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Jackie Teegarden of Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission, Catherine Reed of the American Red Cross, Deborah Weigner of the Salvation Army, Teresa Shaffer and Nancy Replogle of First Unit
