When officers arrived they heard shots fired in the area and found a woman with a firearm, who was detained, police said.
Officers later determined the woman had disarmed the suspect, another woman who was later taken into custody, police said.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said two people were injured and both taken to an area hospital. One of the victims, a juvenile, was critically injured while the other victim, an elderly man, had non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
The teen remained in critical but stable condition Tuesday evening while the man was treated and released from the hospital. Their identities weren t released.

Coyote wanders into Florida fire station

Dec. 15 (UPI) Firefighters at a Florida station said they woke up to find an unusual visitor to their firehouse a wandering coyote.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said firefighters at Firehouse 29 awoke Sunday morning to find a coyote strolling through the station.

A firefighter snapped a photo of the canine before it ran back out of the station.
The department said the visit was particularly surprising since the station is located in a dense urban neighborhood about a mile from the beach.
