First, a few disclosures: I’m going to mention lots of manufacturers and products because I want to be as specific and detailed as possible. No manufacturer has any connection with this article. I have not been paid or otherwise compensated to mention any company or product. Anything I mention is of my own finding, based on my own use or research. If I have it, I paid for it with my own money. I will try to be clear and distinguish between solutions

Razer Kiyo Pro webcam review: Excellent but overpriced

Source: Jennifer Locke / Android Central I ve reviewed a handful of streaming accessories over the past few weeks, including the Razer Seiren X microphone, and I ve now had the chance to try out the Razer Kiyo Pro webcam. As the Pro in its name suggests, it s an upgraded version of the Razer Kiyo, ditching the integrated ring light but improving fidelity and performance. This may only be the second proper webcam I ve spent any amount of meaningful time with after the Logitech StreamCam that I just reviewed but it s easy to tell the quality on display here. I can confidently say it sits among the best streaming equipment for PS4 and PS5. However, because the PS5 doesn t support third-party webcams, you ll get the most mileage out of this camera on a PC. Still, for anyone using capture cards and not Sony s built-in capture software, you can stream PS5 games and look amazing while doing so with this camera.

Record in 9:16 vertical video for an optimized viewing experience on mobile phones and social media posts. Add Logitech Capture as a camera source to your favorite streaming platforms like YouTube, Facebook Live, or Twitch via Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) or XSplit. 1 Personalize your video content with live text overlays. Choose from a variety of font styles, colors, and backgrounds to easily customize your screen name and messages to your fans.

Why webcams aren t good enough

Why webcams aren’t good enough Updated After consulting numerous webcam buying guides and reviews, purchasing a handful of the most popular models, and testing them in varying lighting situations, I can t escape the grim truth: there are no good webcams. Even webcams recommended by reputable outlets produce poor quality imagery a significant failing, given it’s the one job they re supposed to provide. Uneven color. Blown highlights. Smudgy detail, especially in low light. Any affordable webcam (even at the high end of affordability, $100+), uses inadequate and typically years-old hardware backed by mediocre software that literally makes you look bad. You might not notice this if you’re using video software that makes your own image small, but it will be obvious to other people on the call.
